Paraffin Solvent Alternative: Water-Based, No Flash Point, for Surface Equipment.

Paraffin solvents are xylene, toluene, and diesel: flammable, and they leave hazardous waste. Hasten Cleanse is a water-based concentrate that, with heat and circulation, breaks paraffin from tank walls, flowlines, heater treaters, and separators into small particles that stay suspended in the water instead of resolidifying downstream. This page is about surface equipment, not downhole inhibition.

Heat and circulation are the method. Hot circulation at 140 to 160 degrees, 1:10 to 1:20. Paraffin needs both the chemistry and the movement.
Nothing flammable on location. No flash point, no solvent vapor, non-hazardous water.

Where It Is Used, and How

Stock tanks and gun barrels

Wall build-up. Hot circulation or spray at 1:10 to 1:20.

Flowlines

Batch treatment or circulation with hot water. Suspended wax moves out with the water.

Heater treaters and separators

Circulate hot through the vessel during a cleanout.

Pumping units and wellheads

Surface film and drips. Spray at 1:20.

Honest Limits on Paraffin

Paraffin sits between a film and a solid, and we will not oversell what a water-based product does to it.

What works

Soft and warm wax, wax that is still partly liquid, and build-up that hot circulation can reach. The product breaks it up and keeps it suspended so it does not re-deposit downstream.

What needs help first

Hard, cold, thick wax bonded to steel. That needs heat, mechanical breakup, or both before the chemistry can do its job. It is not a solvent and will not melt it on contact.

What it replaces

Xylene, toluene, and diesel washes, and some hot-oil treatments on surface equipment.

What it does not replace

Downhole paraffin inhibitors and crystal modifiers injected at the wellhead. Different chemistry, different job.

What Hasten Cleanse does not do

It is not a solvent and not a caustic. It will not dissolve, melt, or strip material that is physically bonded or baked onto a surface: scale, rust, hardened deposits, coatings. It lifts hydrocarbons, oil, grease, crude, sludge, and paraffin, by emulsifying them, and it needs agitation, circulation, pressure, or heat to do that work. If your problem is a stuck-on solid rather than a hydrocarbon film or residue, tell us and we will say so.

Concentrate and Packaging

Ask for a demo on one tank or treater with your own paraffin. The result on your wax is the only number worth having.

No added bacteriaNothing in the pail is alive. Hasten Cleanse feeds the microbes you already have, in a treatment plant, a separator, or the soil, instead of competing with them.
Full concentrateSold as concentrate and diluted on site, 1:10 for heavy residue to 1:50 for light. Compare products by working gallons per drum, not by the drum.

Paraffin Questions, Answered Straight

Does it dissolve paraffin like xylene does?

No. It breaks it into small particles suspended in water, with heat and agitation. That is why the wax does not resolidify downstream, and also why hard cold wax needs heat first.

Is it a downhole treatment?

No. Surface equipment: tanks, flowlines, treaters, separators.

What temperature?

140 to 160 degrees is best. It works cooler, slower.

Flash point?

None. Water-based.

What happens to the wax?

It stays suspended in the water and comes out with it, to a pit, separator, or treatment as non-hazardous.
